interlanguage has always been especially dedicated to providing its services with a very personal focus on quality and satisfying customer needs and requirements.
In 1998, we felt the need to frame this focus around precise criteria. The ISO 9001 and the Italian UNI 10574 norms and standards guided us towards the definition of our Quality System and the preparation of our procedures. In 2001, interlanguage become one of the first translation agencies in Italy to achieve both Quality System certification and accreditation for Translation and Interpreting Services.
In the years that followed, a new European standard for translation service providers came into effect: the EN 15038:2006. Translation Services are not covered by the Italian UNI 10574 standard, which defines its own specific scope for Interpreting Services. interlanguage adapted its quality management system accordingly and currently holds the following certifications:

UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 Conformity with this standard guarantees a sound quality management that pursues client satisfaction by means of efficient organisation and ongoing monitoring of all stages and company procedures affecting the quality of the service. Thanks to a rationalised management of human resources, the harmonising of operational processes and their scheduled monitoring the risk of error is reduced and the workflow is faster, resulting in the guarantee of high system reliability and repeatable quality. |

UNI EN 15038:2006 This is the first European standard in the sector to specify the requisites that a Translation Service Provider should have. It also lays down the related activities of the translator, the language editor and the project manager, specifying their linguistic, cultural and technical skills, and covers all aspects pertaining to quality assurance and traceability. |

UNI 10574:2007 This is the updated version of the Italian UNI 10574 standard derived from the previous version, which covered both translation and interpretation services. This one covers the interpretation service alone in all its forms (simultaneous, consecutive, whispered and negotiation), and stipulates that the service should envisage a planning phase, along with the drafting of an agreement, a delivery phase and a monitoring phase as well. In this instance, too, the standard specifies the linguistic and technical requisites that both the interpreter and the service provider should have. |
