Voice-over
In our voice-over service a professional native speaker reads a text in Italian or another language and records it to an audio medium. Audio files are increasingly utilised for online training initiatives (WBT, eLearning, webinars, audioguides) and for industrial videos, commercials and documentaries.
We can provide male and female speakers for all languages and also Italian speakers, including professionals of national renown. Before the recording session we can offer a casting process with auditions to allow clients to choose the voice they consider to be most suitable for the job.
The voice-over service includes recording, editing, mixing (if required), mastering and transmission of the file by FTP in .aiff, .mp3, .wav or other formats.
How a voice-over is prepared:
Selection of the voice First, the client has to choose one or more voices. interlanguage suggests a number of voice-over artists in the language required, selected by age, gender and tone of voice.
Text revision If the client has supplied the text already in the recording language, the artist reads it through to ensure that it runs smoothly and is free of mistakes, and to check the pronunciation of acronyms, names, figures symbols, etc.
Rehearsal The artist reads the text to get to know its contents and practise the pronunciation and reading speed, to make the recording as natural as possible.
Recording The next step is the recording itself. The artist is assisted by a professional who ensures that the reading flows properly and the rhythm and emphasis are appropriate. A further check for any omissions is made on completion of the recording.
Post-production The sound engineers clean up the recording to remove background noise, breaths, breaks or extended pauses. This is followed by mastering, compression and then consignment to interlanguage for final checking.
Soundtrack quality control The audio file thus prepared undergoes final checking by a linguist for any errors in the reading or recording. The file is now ready for consignment to the client.
