The interlanguage Legal Translations Section handles financial and legal texts, with special attention to the unique problems involved in translating between different legal systems.
Further to the translation job itself, interlanguage offers our legal and business clients professional consultancy in the authoring of the Italian original for translation. This step is particularly important in the case of, among others:

  • contracts
  • international disputes
  • company documents
  • tenders
  • patent and trademark registration applications

Coordination
Our Legal Translations Section is coordinated by a lawyer with wide experience of international law and, in particular, EU and insurance law.
Our Section Coordinator's expertise in international law is an essential linguistic and legal support for our translation services.

Resources
Further to their excellent qualifications as linguists, translators working for the Legal Translations Section must have expertise in the following areas:

  • comparative law – basic familiarity with modern legal systems;
  • terminology – mastery of the special terminology specific to the area of the law to which the document makes reference;
  • style and vocabulary in line with established legal standards.

The translations are subjected to our normal total quality controls by our project managers and proofreaders. During the editing process, they are supervised by the Legal Translations Section Coordinator who ensures not only that the language is correct, but that the translation conforms conceptually to the source text.

For each individual project, our Legal Translations Section can detail the translation process, and the client can contact the Coordinator to clarify critical passages in advance and agree special requirements.
